Cyclone Larry smashes Innisfail High

GTAQ member, Robert Basaglia, surveys what is left of his Department after his building bore the full force of Cyclone Larry a fortnight ago. No textbooks, no videos, no DVDs. All either water-damaged or flung somewhere across Innisfail as winds ripped in from the south-south-west. Robert's classroom no longer exists and he wonders where in the world the five globes his department owned are now!

GTAQ Council last night ( April 4 ) heard of initiatives from Kay Channon who has been chasing publishers for book donations and from David Lergessner who spent 4 days in the area. GTAQ responded by allocating money to help move books to Innisfail and has offered to extend membership to all 2005 members in the affected area by one year.
